Weekly Sunday Walks in Somerset

If you are looking for a way to get fitter, meet new people and see more of Somerset’s wonderful varied countryside, The Somerset Walking Club could be the one for you. Walks are arranged over Exmoor and the Quantock Hills, the Blackdowns, Brendon Hills, Mendips and the Somerset Levels.

Covid Situation permitting, there are also social events and twice-yearly weekends away (spring and autumn), staying in comfortable guest houses/ hotels with guided walks each day.

We have produced our usual programme of Sunday walks for September to December 2021 and are no longer limiting the numbers on walks. However, we are still asking that anyone wishing to join a walk book in advance by phoning or emailing the leader, just in case there are changes in the Covid situation and guidelines, or if the weather is very bad. Please note that if you have booked a place and are then unable to go, you should inform the leader so that they do not delay the walk by waiting for you.

We remind walkers to observe social distancing and be considerate of other members of the public out on paths, especially where space is narrow. There will be no car sharing arrangements from Castle Street car park for the time being.

Summer’s walk along the River Barle, Exmoor.
