Coast Path Trentishoe to Combe Martin

Walk leader: Cherry Bird and John Evans: In a summer of non-stop sunshine and dry weather, we managed to choose a day with some wind and rain for this walk from Trentishoe to Combe Martin along the coast path and returning inland. But that’s Exmoor for you. Fortunately the sun did make an appearance for the coast path bit so we enjoyed the glorious views, including lunch at the top of the Little Hangman, followed by ice creams on the beach at Combe Martin, watching the boats bobbing around and holiday makers. Turning inland we made our way up the western edge of this very long village through fields, again with lovely views. Crossing over by the impressive church we tackled the seemingly endless climb up silver mines lane, past the remains of the old mining industry on which much of the prosperity of Combe Martin was built. Then the rain really arrived!
